On my first ever commissioned shoot, the Scottish vintage brand Sook Souk and I worked together to collaborate on a visual and artistic photography session. This collaboration challenged me to rethink how vintage photography could be explored and created, blending creativity with thoughtful experimentation. The project was an explorative experience that allowed everyone who participated to grow artistically while creating visuals that were dynamic, explorative, and engaging.

To reimagine vintage photography, I included vintage objects and garments to position the clothing as part of a larger artistic scene. This approach created a sense of narrative and context beyond the garments themselves.

Collaboration was central to the shoot. While I provided a broad artistic concept, I encouraged the models to suggest their own ideas and poses. This freedom allowed the photos to feel natural and authentic, capturing the individuality of each participant.

Yasin, one of our models, suggested adding a plant as the head of his mannequin. His idea was fantastic, and added an abstract, non-gendered element to the shoot.

For both myself and some of those who collaborated on the project: designers, models, and the shop's staff, this was our first time participating in a large-scale photoshoot. The experience was not only creatively fulfilling but also a fun and collaborative learning journey.
