Experiencing Michaela Stark’s Performance at Tate Britain.
Set against a backdrop of classical paintings and rich burgundy walls, her work introduced a radical energy that transcended traditional notions of beauty and the body. Through a powerful statement on body positivity and the reclamation of the female form, Stark created a space where art, self-expression, and empowerment converged.
Photographing and filming Stark's performance allowed me to reflect on how art can challenge and reframe perceptions of gendered physical identity and beauty.
